Shawn E. Jeffers
Since March 2003, Shawn E. Jeffers has led Little City in fulfilling its mission of making each day better than the last for the children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities it serves. As Little City continues to redefine itself, Mr. Jeffers serves to champion the rights of participants to attain equality and dignity. The nonprofit includes a 56-acre campus in Palatine with a choice of housing, programming and educational options as well as a foster care placement office in Chicago. It has recently added the Duffey Family Children’s Village of state-of-the-art group homes for children and has doubled the square footage and capacity of its ChildBridge Center for Education.
Along with a volunteer governing board of 24 of Chicago’s public and private sector leaders, and an advisory board of 16 passionate Chicago-area professionals and volunteers, Mr. Jeffers has paved the way for new vocational and recreational programming. Mr. Jeffers oversees the operations of Little City, including a staff of over 400, and manages a $26 million operating budget.
