Little City's Center for Health & Wellness includes four major components:
- Social-Emotional and Behavioral Health
- Primary Medical and Oral Health
- Recreational Health
- Nutritional and Dietary Health
Here you will learn about our recreational health program providing a full range of recreational activities for all residents including extensive participation in Special Olympics competition.
Since the building of the Karyn Kupcinet Recreation Center in 1978, Little City has developed adaptive recreational programming and sensory stimulating activities that is among the best in Illinois. Included among our recreation facilities are:
- Full-sized swimming pool
- Fitness center
- Youth playroom
- Sensory Room
- Bocce ball courts
- Baseball field
- Indoor gym with full basketball court
- Walking and fitness trail
John King’s expression tells it all when it comes to how it feels to hit a good golf shot during one of the sports programs offered at Little City.
In addition, Recreational Therapists provide direct services to our clients on a weekly basis. Children participate in individualized classes designed specifically for their developmental level. Adults participate in activities that help enrich their lives, including exercise and cooking classes.
Through these recreational activities and more, Little City helps provide a high quality of life for all ages.
