Discover volunteers are returning to
Little City for a third year to help individuals with disabilities as part of their 4
th Annual Discover Cares Month, in which employees across the country volunteer within their communities.
“Everyone at Little City is very grateful for the continued support of the Discover volunteers,” Little City Executive Director Shawn E. Jeffers commented. “We are excited to have the opportunity to expand our therapeutic approach throughout our campus with the help of these volunteers.”

This year, volunteers will be working on multiple projects around the campus that help promote health and wellness. Projects include building a soccer field, yard work, laying mulch, painting picnic tables and benches and painting homes in colors that are therapeutic for the children and adults with disabilities that reside there.
“Last year we brought 200 volunteers to Little City and built a playground in a day. This year, Discover is bringing nearly 500 volunteers to Little City to help further transform the campus into a creative and rewarding environment. We are honored to work along side such a deserving organization,” said Discover Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer Glenn Schneider.
In addition, they will be building discovery tables that help promote sensory integration, which will be placed throughout the campus. Discover volunteers will also be building a mock town, Little City Safety Town, created to teach individuals life skills, such as stopping at a stop sign and how to cross a street.
