Palatine, Ill.–March 3, 2011–Boasting new dates and a new location, Little City Foundation will once again offer thousands of new and gently used books in nearly 60 subject categories, plus an extensive collection of CDs, DVDs, comic books, cookbooks and collectors books. The annual Little City Book Fair will take place Friday, August 19 from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday, August 20 from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday, August 21, 2011 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. All proceeds from the fair will benefit Little City Foundation to support hundreds of Chicago’s most vulnerable citizens.
Thousands of Chicagoans are invited to attend the Little City Book Fair at no charge (with an exception of opening night when a $10 donation is requested) at the Harper College gymnasium on 1200 West Algonquin Road in Palatine, Ill.
“Hosting the sale closer to our Palatine campus is a great way to establish new relationships with local residents and businesses to which we may not otherwise be exposed,” commented
Little City Director of Strategic Market Engagement Dana Rice. “Our goal at the fair is not only to sell books, but to introduce our mission and vital programming to a new base of local supporters.”
Books donations are collected throughout the year and sold at bargain prices to engage the Chicagoland community and generate awareness of disability prevalence today.
Approximately 4,000 shoppers are expected to pick from the best collection of thousands of gently used books in nearly 60 subject categories.
