Little City Foundation to Celebrate 50 Years of Groundbreaking, Innovative Service to Children and Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
Serving Illinois faithfully for nearly 50 years, Little City Foundation (LCF) celebrates its Golden Anniversary with a kick-off Fashion Show and Golden Anniversary Dinner on October 2 and November 7 respectively; Little City continues to champion for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by generating awareness through a yearlong series of special events and strategic expansion of its most effective most effective, most promising, and most desired programs and services
PALATINE, IL – August 11, 2009 – Little City Foundation will invite thousands of Chicagoans to a series of special events (through October 2010) to celebrate its Golden Anniversary Year and to raise awareness for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Golden Anniversary Year begins with a Fashion Show Dinner on October 2 at the Hilton Chicago followed by a Golden Anniversary Dinner on November 7 at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Hotel.
“Little City started as a dream of a group of committed parents who wanted to secure for their children, the best possible life,” explained Little City Executive Director Shawn Jeffers. “It was a vision that would develop into a revolutionary new environment and concept in services…we’re delighted that Little City continues to realize this dream for the families of Chicago and we’re even more enthused to expand our most effective, most promising, and most desired programs and services into the next 50 years.”
The celebratory kick-off event begins on the runway showcasing highly-coveted clothing lines from high-end Chicago Designers and Retailers. The Little City Fashion Show Dinner will bring together Chicago’s most fashion-forward talent to present the latest fall fashions while raising awareness for children and adults with disabilities.
Major sponsors include Presenting Sponsor Ford Models, Inc. and Runway Sponsor Zzazz Productions. Phillips Florist also serves as a top supporter.
The Little City Golden Anniversary Dinner takes place as the official celebration and will feature celebrity guests and honorees.
