Little City Foundation Presents Senior Clinical Consultant
Dr. Mark Holzberg Tonight on Little City TV Generating Awareness for Autism Spectrum Disorder

Little City Foundation (LCF), in partnership with Chicago Access Network Television (CAN TV), takes live calls from concerned members of the community seeking answers to their personal questions about autism; Little City TV serves as the only live autism awareness show in Chicago and airs every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. on CAN TV 21

CHICAGO, IL – April 14, 2010 –  Little City Foundation will present Dr. Mark Holzberg, Director of Research for Behavioral Health Services at the School of Social Work at SIUC (Southern Illinois University-Carbondale), and Senior Clinical Consultant to the Division of Clinical Services at the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), tonight at 7:30 p.m. on CAN TV 21 in Chicago.

“We wanted to do something significant and worthwhile in recognition of Autism Awareness month,” commented Little City Executive Director Shawn E. Jeffers.  “And there’s clearly a need to open up the dialogue, generate more awareness and collaborate more with one another when it comes to autism—Little City TV is helping to do that in a thoughtful and innovative way through cable programming, social media and the Internet.”

For 13 weeks, Little City will feature experts and industry thought leaders such as Dr. Mark Holzberg in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities, and serve as a much-needed resource answering pressing questions related to the fastest-growing developmental disability affecting the nation.

“Tonight, I’m looking forward to motivating parents who have children with autism because intuitively, they know a lot more than ‘experts’ when it come to their children,” commented Dr. Mark Holzberg.  “I also hope to educate the general public a little bit more about the nature of disabilities and autism.”

Dr. Mark Holzberg owns more than 40 years of progressive responsible experience in public and private multidisciplinary service and delivery programs.  He is responsible for agency, community, and statewide program development and service delivery systems.

He serves as a consultant to the Division of Clinical Services & Professional Development at the Department of Children & Family Services around strategic planning, program design and implementation.  Dr. Holzberg also holds private practice and provides consultation to state agencies, community providers, and university and medical centers.
