Preparing for and executing the Little City Book Fair is an enormous task. We know that without helping hands, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. Volunteers are the backbone of any great organization and make it possible to produce such an event. There are several different ways for both individuals and groups to lend a hand and become a Book Fair volunteer.
Book Warehouse
The preparations for the book sale begin a year in advance. Volunteers work in our book warehouse sorting, pricing and packing books. The warehouse is open weekdays from 10am to 4pm and the 2nd Saturday of each month from 9am to 1pm. We will open evenings and weekends for groups of 5 or more volunteers.
Book Fair Setup
Setup for the Book Fair begins a week before the actual sale. The books collected throughout the year are delivered to the sale site and need to be unpacked, sorted and displayed.
Book Fair
Individual volunteers are needed to work the actual sale during the week as cashiers, re-sorters, guides and security. This is also a great opportunity for your Corporation/Group to volunteer (see below).
Corporate/Group Volunteerism
Corporate/group volunteerism is a great way to gather together, lend a hand and have fun. Little City can accommodate groups up to 10 for the Book Warehouse and 50 for the Book Fair itself. Corporate volunteer groups at the Book Fair will receive special recognition including a table to hand out literature and a place to post a banner/sign.
