1.  What is Little City Foundation and why do they host an annual Book Fair?

Little City Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that engages and supports individuals, families and communities to ensure that children and adults with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities can realize their unique potential to live safely, learn continuously, explore creatively and work productively. Through programs that encompass employment, recreation, advocacy and the arts, these individuals are encouraged to fully participate in the communities where they live, work and interact.

Little City must raise an average of $10,000 per year per individual for the more than 350 individuals served by the organization. To do so, Little City relies on the support of local community members.  The Book Fair is a great way to engage the community and raise money for a great cause.

3. Where will the Little City Book Fair be held?

The Little City Book Fair has a new location this year.  The sale will take place at the gymnasium of Harper College in Palatine, located at 1200 W. Algonquin Road.



4. What type of items do you accept for donations?

We accept new and gently used books, DVD’s, CD’s, Vinyl records and comic books. We cannot accept magazines, law books, Reader’s Digest condensed books, removed library books, romance novels, damaged books (mildew, water, fire, ripped, etc.) or encyclopedias more than 10 years old.



5. How can I donate items to the Little City Book Fair?

We have a number of drop-off locations available to receive your donations. For an up-to-date listing of drop-off locations and addresses, please visit our Donations page. If you have a large number of items to donate, please see below.



6. What happens if I have more than 150 items to donate?

We will pick up donations of 150+ books that are in small boxes or double bagged for one person to carry. The books must be accessible for the pickup person. Please call 847-221-7856 to arrange a pick-up.




7. What volunteer opportunities exist at the Little City Book Fair?

We have a variety of opportunities available for interested individuals, families and organizations. A list of volunteer opportunities and contact information is located on our Volunteer page.



8. How do I receive updates related to the Little City Book Fair?
