Little City Foundation’s Parent, Family and Guardian (PFG) Group 19th Annual Ted Arndt Memorial Golf Outing
Little City Foundation’s Parent, Family and Guardian (PFG) Group will host its 19th Annual Ted Arndt Memorial Golf Outing on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Highland Woods Golf Course in Hoffman Estates. All proceeds will benefit Little City Foundation in its efforts to provide life-changing opportunities and services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The event will be held as a scramble format, with registration opening at 11:30 a.m and a 1:00 p.m. tee time with a shotgun start. Selected holes will feature special competitions, including Beat the Pro, Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, and one chance for each of four $150 cash contest holes. There will also be an entry to win a hole-in-one competition for a new car lease.
The event is named in memory of Ted Arndt, a dedicated volunteer whose stepdaughter, Sharon, came to Little City Foundation in 1969. Ted’s dream was to create an annual golf outing to raise funds and build awareness for the organization that changed the life of his stepdaughter. In 1991, Ted realized his dream, with the launch of the first PFG Group Golf Outing. Ted played an active role in organizing the golf outing each year before succumbing to Alzheimer’s disease in 2005. The tournament was renamed in his honor in 2006.
Over the years, the tournament has raised thousands of dollars for Little City. The proceeds help benefit our children and adults with developmental disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, blindness and autism.
