Abstract Rainbow
The late
was one of the most prolific artists in The Center for the Arts. She worked with bright and colorful drawings, paintings, monoprints, sculptural work and dolls. She also hosted regular segments on the bimonthly “Kiss My TV Show” distributed nationally on public access cable TV and received a National Educational Media Network Golden Apple award for “On Our Way to Hollywood,” an independent video she co-wrote, co-produced and starred in.
Garden of Colors
is a prolific and diligent artist whose infectious laugh often fills the studio while she is working. She favors drawing media such as oil pastels and colored pencils, which she uses to saturate her working surface with areas of pure color. Sometimes velvety, sometimes glossy, the vibrant images she creates often have a tactile quality to them, owing to the rich and careful application of her medium of choice.
Green Circles
creates rich and intriguing artwork comprised of repetitious dots, circles and dashes. Even with such a small graphic vocabulary, she is able to achieve an astonishing variety in her artwork, ranging from forms which are hard edged and geometric, to forms which are free flowing and organic in feel. Although two-dimensional, the work is built up like a sculpture, with many layers of colored pencil and paint, often giving the impression that there are many other pictorial layers hidden beneath the visible surface.
